DevOps Engineer

Our current ops infrastructure is sensible and works well. Can you take it to the next level? Handle 10X purchase volume? 100X? Scale across continents?
The dev ops team works closely with the software developers, sometimes pair programming. This means you get your hands into our Rails code. We have dedicated hardware and virtual nodes at Rackspace. Everything is configured with Chef, and we also use Red Hat/CentOS/Ubuntu/OS X, Nagios, Ganglia, git, Redis, and MySQL. We run a standard Ruby on Rails stack and also support iOS and Android apps.

Call Local Advertisers in the US
- Introduce the Bigger Better Deal platform and advertising concept
- Prospect, advise, sell and close local businesses on genuine and compelling offers for various clients on each business’ products and services
- Identify new, unique businesses, activities and products to be featured on the unique advertising opportunities, bringing new experiences and deals for the customer

HTML Web Designer
The HTML/Web Designer is smart, funny, and genuine in their dealings with fellow employees and clients alike. The ideal candidate is web savvy and has experience with social networking. The Web Designer must be an expert in HTML and CSS, be familiar with web standards, accessibility and best practices, and have an eye for good web design. This job requires flawless attention to detail, reliability and the ability to consistently meet deadlines. The environment is fast paced, dynamic and very interesting.
Position Requirements:
- Expert in HTML and CSS (including experience with CSS3).
- Ability to slice PSD files and produce pixel-perfect, cross-browser compatible web pages with clean, semantic and valid HTML and CSS, without using editors like Expression and Dreamweaver.
- Ability to integrate self-generated HTML/CSS with third-party HTML/CSS, and debug any layout and styling conflicts that may result.
- Strong knowledge of web standards and cross-browser, cross-platform development and testing.
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively with backend developers.
- Fundamental understanding of clean, effective UI design and web typography.
- Proficient in Adobe Photoshop CS4 or CS5.
- Comfort at the Unix command line and experience with Subversion/Git is a plus.
- Experience with server-side technologies such as PHP or Ruby is a plus.
- Experience with Javascript (esp. Prototype) is a plus.
- Skills with web page design is a plus.
You must have several years of experience with expert-level HTML and be prepared to submit a HTML coding test. Compensation will be provided for completing the HTML coding test.
